KARLI WALKER

ARTIST BIO

 

Karli is a native of Chantilly,VA, where she was trained under the direction of Bennett and Debra Savage at the Center for Ballet Arts. Karli also studied at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as part of the young artist program, training with the  Dance Theatre of Harlem and Debbie Allen, to name a few. She was invited to further her studies at North Carolina School of the Arts, The Joffrey Ballet, and was awarded a scholarship to North Carolina School of the Arts, and The Dance Theatre of Harlem. She received a scholarship from Point Park University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance - Ballet concentration and studies in Business Management . While there she had the opportunity to perform works by Margo Sappington, Alan Hineline, Peter Merz, Nicholas Petrov, and George Balanchine. 

Karli moved to Chicago in 2007 to dance with Inaside Chicago Dance. Since then she has performed with Thodos Dance Chicago, All The Pieces Matter, Still Inspired (?), among other free lance performances. She has taught hundreds of students throughout Chicagoland over the years and has a genuine passion for being a part of young artists training. Always pursuing greater knowledge of the body,she is certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and American Council on Exercise (ACE), specializing in pre/postnatal fitness and women's health.
