ADEN HURST

From a young age, Aden, expressed a love for dance and performance. After dancing locally and competitively in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, Aden was accepted to The Chicago Academy for the Arts where he began his formal dance education. At CAA, supported by the Young Men’s Dance Initiative, he performed works by Nick Pupillo, Brian Brooks, and Randy Duncan. Aden furthered his studies at Purchase Conservatory of Dance with the support of the Adopt-A-Dancer Scholarship. Aden continued exploring his craft at the Nuova X Dance Program in Turin, Italy. During his time at Purchase and Nuova X, he collaborated on many peer-choreographed works and performed and studied work by Loni Landon, Kimberly Bartosik, Martha Graham, Bryan Arias, Andrea Costanzo Martini, Moritz Ostruschnjak, Tom Weinberger, and Kate Wallich.

 

Aden is a touring performer with Zoe|Juniper company and is in his second season as a company member with Visceral Dance Chicago. At VDC, Aden has had the privilege of performing works by Kevin O’Day, Marco Palomino, Monica Cervantes Rodriguez, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, and Nick Pupillo. In addition to performing, Aden has choreographed at Purchase College, The Boston Conservatory, NYU Tisch, La Mama Galleria, and Visceral Dance Chicago. Aden is continuing to develop work and share his movement by facilitating independent workshops, teaching in the Chicago-land area, and leading classes for Visceral Dance Chicago’s Intensive programming. He is grateful to be finding community in Chicago through performing and creating. When not dancing, Aden loves to cook, be outdoors, and practice yoga. @aden.hurst
