Visceral Studio Company | Pre-Professional Training
Visceral Studio Company (VSC) is a pre-professional dance company for dancers ages 12-18. Founded in 2006 by Artistic Director Nick Pupillo, VSC is committed to encouraging aspiring dancers to reach their fullest potential while providing an environment which promotes diversity, equity and inclusion.
Dancers selected to join VSC are elite dancers looking to gain training and experience as they embark upon their dance career.
Dedicated training at Visceral Dance Center focuses on strong technique while promoting the exploration of new movement. VSC maintains a focus on ballet and contemporary technique, while still providing dancers the opportunity to train in other disciplines. VSC aims to provide dancers with the training to continue their careers, whether that be through post-secondary education or a professional company.

VSC's dancers appear in numerous dance festivals and competitions in the Chicagoland area, giving ample opportunity to gain valuable experience. The company's emphasis remains on performance as a way for the dancers to earn confidence and to acquire the experience of being on stage.

VSC alumni have gone on to pursue dance in top universities and dance programs including Juilliard, NYU, Marymount Manhattan, Boston Conservatory, USC, Fordham/Ailey, and SUNY Purchase to name a few. Others have successfully transitioned into professional careers in prestigious companies such as Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Rambert Dance, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Gallim, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, River North Dance Chicago, BODYTRAFFIC, and Eastman amongst others.
