Apprentice since 2025

Annika’s early training was shaped by her time with Nick Pupillo’s Visceral Studio Company in Chicago, IL (2017–2019), an experience that had a profound impact on her technical and artistic growth. She then studied at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia under Donna Faye Burchfield, collaborating with choreographers such as Sidra Bell, Mark Caserta, Jesse Zarrit, Tommie Waheed, and Katie Swords Thurman.

Annika relocated to Chicago in 2024 to join the Visceral Dance Trainee Program and was later promoted as an apprentice at Visceral Dance Chicago. She has also furthered her training at esteemed intensive programs, including Springboard Danse, B12 and Flockworks.

 

In her first year as an apprentice, Annika performed works by Micaela Taylor and Nick Pupillo. She also choreographed her own work and performed in Visceral’s annual ‘Within’. 

 

She looks forward to indulging in new creative processes and allowing her artistry to bloom in her second season with the company.
