Visceral's new space is a home for facilitating and inspiring growth in our community through accessibility and inclusion. Your help in donating provides assistance for students, dancers and performers in the Chicagoland area to have affordable opportunities.

Visceral Dance Chicago has grown alongside the school of the same name--Visceral Dance Center continues to train children to adults, beginner to professional dancers, as it has for over thirteen years.
Visceral stays in contact with its community and city as a whole through its performances, extensive training opportunities and outreach, compelling audiences and students to continue dancing and connecting with the arts community.

Visceral’s New Building Campaign allows growth for our company (Visceral Dance Chicago), while providing more space for additional classes, programming and performances.

Outfitted with a bold metallic Visceral sign, a sleek ADA accessible front desk and an apparel area designed to showcase Visceral Merchandise.
MAIN HALLWAY

The Main Hallway lined with skylights, runs the length of the building, connecting each studio. Benches are located outside each studio to provide seating. Throughout the length of the hallway, Visceral dance photos will be displayed.

RIVERSIDE DECK

The Riverside Deck will have several functions. While allowing for a quiet space for daily unwinding and reflection, it will also serve as a pre and post-event space and an area for community gatherings.

The deck will feature all-weather tables and chairs, outdoor dry bar, outdoor lighting, sound system and a retractable canopy.

The Pilates Studio will be fully equipped for private and small sessions. The studio will include 1 cadillac conversion with universal reformer, 3 combination electric and Wunda chairs, 1 ladder barrel, 2 tower reformer units, 3 spine correctors, a pedipole, a foot corrector and Magic Circles.
ANN BARZEL THEATER

Studio 6 transforms into an accessible performance space used by Visceral, the Chicago artists and beyond. This space will allow the community to grow, feel and experience the arts together.
57’ X 64' x 90’ - Harlequin sprung floors with Marley, mirrors, barres, piano, sound system and 3 blackout curtains
The space will include three tiers of movable seats, state-of-the-art theatrical lighting and rigging system with dedicated side lights and cyc units. Other movable lights will offer maximum flexibility and countless options with minimal labor and time. The lights will be LED-based offering endless color options and low power consumption. The performance area will include 3 wings, a cyc and a full stage black traveler.

The performance space will have all the capabilities of a traditional, large theater while providing an intimate experience.
