Carmen.maquia is a contemporary dance adaptation of Bizet’s opera Carmen. It tells the passionate and tragic story of Carmen, a free-spirited and fiercely independent woman, and her tumultuous relationship with Don José, a soldier who becomes obsessively in love with her. Inspired by Picasso’s black-and-white aesthetic, the production combines ballet and contemporary movement to bring a visually striking and emotionally charged retelling of the classic tale.
