ANYA

Anya began dancing at the age of 2 and immediately found her love and passion for the arts.  After moving to the Chicago area 9 years ago, Anya immediately became the youngest member of the performance and competitive team at her new studio; where she studied classical ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. After several years of studies, Anya participated in a summer intensive at the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. This ultimately led Anya to leave her studio and become part of the Pre-Professional Program at the Joffrey Academy in Chicago. Anya attended Joffrey Academy full-time for two years focusing heavily on classical ballet, including en pointe. She also was fortunate enough to be cast in Joffrey’s annual production of The Nutcracker.

Determined to remain fluent in all styles of dance, Anya fueled her love of learning and growing through intensives, conventions, and supplemental classes, which led her to Visceral and the unique stylings of Nick Pupillo that immediately spoke to Anya. Intrigued by such a new quality of movement, Anya enrolled at Visceral, ultimately joining Visceral Studio Company, while maintaining full time enrollment at Joffrey Academy, in order to continue her exposure to such a fascinating new style of dance and body control. Anya continues to seek additional opportunities to grow and learn; which has led her to be recognized by the New York City Dance Alliance as an Outstanding Dancer Finalist for seven consecutive years and most recently led to her spending time dancing at in New York City at NYCDA’s Nationals Competition. Anya is thrilled to continue her journey with her third year as part of Visceral Studio Company
