IMANI

Imani Troutman has been dancing since the age of five. Imani’s love for dance began at Mayfair Dance Academy with her joy of performing tap dance and jazz. At the Mayfair Dance Academy, Imani began her study of ballet, jazz, contemporary, African, and tap dance. At age 6, Imani joined the Mayfair Performing Company, where she competed at numerous competitions and her fuel of dance intensified.professional growth in dance, Imani at the age of 7 transitioned to the Chicago Multicultural Dance Center, where she trained in classical ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, African, hip hop, and acrobatics. After several years of training, Imani competed on the Chicago Multicultural Dance Center Competition team and performed with the Homer Bryant Hiplet dancers at numerous events. In addition, Imani had the honor of competing at the Chicago YAGP competition. To strengthen her dance skills and gain exposure, Imani participated at the Milwaukee School of Ballet summer six week intensive training and the Nashville School of Ballet for a three week summer intensive.

At the age of 13 Imani began her dance career at the Chicago School of Ballet where she continued her classical ballet training. Imani was a part of the CSB Nutcracker and the Sleeping Beauty production, where she gained valuable experience and her love of performance continued to grow. During her training at CSB, she competed at the Universal Ballet Competition in Chicago.
Determined to continue her love of dance, Imani joined the Inside Out Dance Crew at Visceral Dance Studio at age 14. She fell in love with the style of hip hop and participated in several competitions. In July 2024, Inside Out Dance Crew had the honor to compete at the World of Dance in Los Angeles and take master classes from well renowned dance professionals. While taking hip hop classes at Visceral Studio, Imani's first love of ballet drew her to take drop in classes at Visceral. An intense spark occurred and Imani auditioned for the Visceral Studio Company. Imani is passionate and committed to the arts and is honored and excited to begin her journey with the Visceral Studio Company.
