ISSY

 

From a young age, Issy Hammel found a passion for performance, first in theatre and then in dance, studying musical theatre, ballet, and tap at local studios before joining Visceral Dance Center. Her formal training at Visceral began with Kaytee Cox, where she became a member of the Youth Ensemble in 2022. She has pursued intensive training at Visceral, Interlochen Arts, Hubbard Street Dance, Ballet Jazz Montréal, and BODYTRAFFIC, and has performed in regional competitions.

 

Issy is currently a Senior at the Chicago Academy of the Arts as a dance major, training with Randy Duncan and Patrick Simoniello. She is inspired by the unique vision of expressive contemporary dance at Visceral, values the culture and community of its teachers and dancers, and is excited to train with the Studio Company this year under the direction of Nick Pupillo.
