Kaliana Medlock (she/her) is a Filipino American artist who discovered her passion for the arts and movement at a young age. She is a 2023 graduate from the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase, where she earned a BFA in dance and minors in Arts Management and Contemplative Studies. Since joining Visceral Dance Chicago in 2023, she has had the opportunity to closely work with and perform works by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, Roderick George, Marco Palomino, Mònica Cervantes, Kevin O’Day and Nick Pupillo. She has furthered her artistic development with organizations such as RUBBERBAND, SpringboardX, A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham, BODYTRAFFIC, Ate9 Dance, and New Dialect; additionally, she has performed works by Peter Chu, Jenn Freeman, Amy Miller, MICHIYAYA Dance, and Bill T. Jones. 

 

Kaliana is profoundly grateful for the opportunities, growth, and meaningful connections she has experienced within the Visceral community thus far. She has deeply enjoyed sharing her artistic voice this year teaching at Visceral Dance Center and other studios throughout Chicago. She is excited to begin her third season with the company!​​​​
