KARINA

 

Karina's passion for dance started at a young age.  At age 3, she began taking ballet with Design Dance, then at age 6 she enrolled in Visceral Dance Center's youth classes.  

 

In 2019, she joined Visceral Youth Ensemble, eager to challenge herself and participate in dance competitions.  When the pandemic hit, Karina's family chose to homeschool and travel for the 2021-22 school year, ultimately driving a slow loop around the United States.

 

When Karina returned to Chicago, she couldn't wait to dance again.  She rejoined VYE and trained under Kaytee Cox, Jessie Novak and Kelly Crain.  Through their support and guidance, Karina grew tremendously as a dancer, ultimately leading to her acceptance to Visceral Studio Company.

 

As she approaches 13 and begins her first year with VSC, Karina is grateful for her teachers and honored to have the opportunity to study with Visceral's director and founder, Nick Pupillo.  She's also excited to work with so many talented dancers, many of whom she considers to be good friends.
