Luella began her dance training at the Joffrey Academy in Chicago from a young age. She attended their conservatory program under the direction of Karin Ellis-Wentz. She then went on to the Alonzo King Lines Training program in San Francisco for two years.

 

While at Lines, she collaborated with many renowned artists including Gregory Dawson, Babatunji, David Harvey, Natasha Adorlee, Moscelyne Parke Harrison, and Maurya Kerr. This is her second season at Visceral.
