LYLA
Lyla was drawn to movement and the performing arts from an early age. She trained for several years in ballet, jazz and modern at studios in Chicago’s North Shore before taking summer classes at Visceral Dance Center. Lyla found an immediate connection to the studio’s culture and instructors and starting training and competing with Visceral’s Youth Ensemble at the age of 9. During her training with Ensemble Director, Kaytee Cox, Lyla had many successes with
competition and grew her love and appreciation for contemporary dance. As she turned 12, Lyla was given the opportunity to train with Visceral Studio Company.
Lyla has had the opportunity to attend two seasons of Joffrey Academy Summer Intensives. This past summer, she attended the advanced level of American Ballet Theatre’s Young Dancer Summer Workshop.
Lyla is committed to growing her technique and exposing herself to various art forms in order to deepen her experience with contemporary dance. She feels very fortunate to enter her second year with VSC under the tutelage and artistry of Founder, Nick Pupillo.
