ARTIST BIO
 

Malcolm Maurice is originally from Louisville, KY. He grew up in Kentucky until moving to Indiana before his junior year in high school. After moving he joined the Carmel Ambassadors show choir where he received his first step of formal training under Lamonte Kuskye. However, although he did have an immense love for dance. He did not begin to pursue that passion until the Fall of 2018 which brought him to Chicago. 

 

Since moving to Chicago he has been a part of various teams including Daily Center and Boom Crack Dance Company. He has also trained under Julianna Morales and JonQis Fillyaw extensively over the past few years as well as many of Chicago’s best. As well as taking an extensive number of classes across the city of Chicago and in various other places such as NYC, and Las Vegas. His goal with class and dance is to help others grow and continue to grow himself.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

​

This class is a fusion between Contemporary & Hip Hop movement. Recommended for dancers with some prior dance experience. My work is driven by the story each song embodies and how each student interprets that song. We will take time to truly listen to the music and speak on the intention we want to possess in class. While also exploring our own movement and emotions through improv at certain points.
