MYA

Mya’s passion for dance and performing ignited at a very young age, fueled by her natural athleticism and love for movement. She began her dance journey at just 3 years old at a studio in Algonquin, guided by Kim Brancamp. By age 4, she entered the competitive dance world, and by age 6, she was performing solos, earning numerous scholarships and awards. When the world paused in 2020, Mya sought new ways to continue her dance education and enrolled in a virtual summer intensive at Visceral Dance Center. There, she fell in love with the exceptional technique and the supportive Visceral community.
From late 2020 to mid-2024, Mya was a member of the Visceral Youth Ensemble under the direction of Kaytee Cox, and in 2021, she also joined the Inside Out Dance Crew, led by Andrew Tamez-Hull. During her time at Visceral, Mya was mentored by professional dancers and choreographers, which significantly enhanced her skills. Her natural athleticism allowed her to embrace challenging choreography, adding vitality and dynamic expression to every performance. Over the past two years, she had the privilege of performing works by Nick Pupillo, deepening her appreciation for the art of movement. This year marks Mya’s debut as a member of the Visceral Studio Company, and she is thrilled to be part of such a vibrant and inspiring community.
