SHEFALI

Shefali has nurtured her innate love of dance from a young age. Her first formal dance experiences were in Indian classical dance, which she studied for 7 years through Mandala Arts. She took her first ballet and modern classes at Visceral Dance Center at the age of 6, and it was clear she had found her passion. With the encouragement and mentorship of Visceral Youth Ensemble’s Director Kaytee Cox and teachers such as Kelly Crain and Jessie Novak, she explored other genres to expand her dance vocabulary and ability to express through movement.
Shefali has had the opportunity to supplement her training with summer intensives at Visceral. This year she was invited to the Joffrey Ballet’s Summer Intensive, where she was able to focus on developing her ballet technique. Shefali was a Visceral Youth Ensemble member for 5 years, where she was challenged and inspired to grow. As Shefali turns 12, she is thrilled to join Visceral Studio Company for her first year and is grateful for the opportunity to develop as a dancer under the mentorship of Nick Pupillo.
