SKYLA
Skyla began dancing at the age of 3, taking ballet, jazz, and tap classes at Talent Forum (with Shelley Page Hoselton) and Dance Motions (with Kristin Hild). Growing up, she always shared a love for dance with her mom, greatly influencing how her passion developed throughout her early years. She participated in and competed with performance groups such as Forum Starz for 3 years, and then Motions Dance Company for 2 years.
Skyla solidified her commitment to dance when she joined Forum Dance Theatre in 2020, in which she spent 5 years deeply immersing herself into contemporary and ballet techniques. She had the opportunity to participate in 4 Regional Dance America Festivals, dance in numerous performances throughout the Chicagoland area, take on student teaching positions, and earned scholarships to multiple summer intensives. During her time with Forum, Skyla trained under the direction of Catie Dietz-Griffith, Lindsey Beebe, and Sinead Gildea, working her way up to spend her final two seasons in the FORUM first company.
Skyla is deeply appreciative to Catie Dietz-Griffith, Sinead Gildea, and Michelle Meltzer for their mentorship in her path as a dancer, and especially for their unwavering guidance and support throughout her transition to Visceral Studio Company. Above all, Skyla is incredibly grateful to Nick Pupillo for providing her the opportunity to take the next step in her dance career as a VSC member. She is so excited to begin her first season with the company and cannot wait to explore what her future at Visceral will hold.
